Manus man found guilty on drug charges

A man in Manus was found guilty for being in Possession of and Cultivating Drugs.

48-year-old James Danny from Solong village of Balopa LLG in Manus was arrested and charged during a police raid on Lou Island.

Manus Police Commander, Chief Inspector David Yapu said the accused appeared for mention before the Lorengau District Court last Friday.

PPC Yapu confirmed that dugs are being grown in Manus and transported to East and West Sepik and even New Ireland provinces to sell.

Yapu is now calling on community leaders to report incidents involving Drug activities to Police.
