GG Thanks People of East Sepik Province

H.E. Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae, GCL, GCMG, KStJ, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, has expressed his gratitude to the people of East Sepik for hosting his visit to the province recently.

The Governor-General and Lady Hannah Dadae travelled to Wewak last weekend to commemorate Remembrance Day on Monday (July 23) this week.

Sir Bob Dadae and his delegation were well received by the locals on their various visits in Wewak including a visit to Yuo Island.

“I want to thank the people of East Sepik for the kind hospitality and the warm reception we received on our visit there to commemorate Remembrance Day. We have been touched by the friendliness of the people and communities we visited it has dispelled a lot of negative perception that we hear of and have come to attach with the province. East Sepik has a rich culture especially in regard to arts and carvings and together with its beautiful natural environment has great tourism potential,” Grand Chief Sir Bob said.

Sir Bob Dadae also expressed his gratitude and commended the PNG Defence Force 2RPIR of Moem Barracks, Police and the East Sepik provincial government for organising and ensuring his visit to the province was a success.

The Governor-General has undertaken to visit provinces outside Port Moresby on national days such as Independence Day and Remembrance Day to highlight and promote their significance.
