FIFA under 20 Women’s World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016: English Legend with PNG Team

FIFA Legend, Alex Scott, is in Port Moresby to promote Women’s Football and the FIFA under 20 Women’s World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016.  She spent time with the PNG Under-17 and 20’s Women’s teams.

Alex Scott is only the seventh player to earn 100 England caps; and is currently England’s 2nd most capped player.

She has competed at the U-19 and U-21 levels for England, including the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship 2002 in Canada.

For the senior team, Scott has played at the 2005, 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women’s Championship, winning a silver medal.

She also participated at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2007, 2011 and 2015. She was named in the FIFA All-Star team after Germany 2011. She won the bronze medal at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015.

She was with the PNG U-20 team at the Fan zone outside the Vision City shopping mall.  They took part in small-sided games and was taught the all famous two step dance by the team

To close off the one-hour fan zone session, she presented a jersey to the team.
