Beon CS Commander urges Districts in Madang to build own Rural Lock-ups

By Martha Louis -EMTV News, Madang

Districts in Madang should set up their own rural lock-ups to help the Beon Correctional Institute to cut down on the overcrowding problem it is facing.

Beon CS Commander, Chief Inspector Andrew Polis, says these rural lock-ups will enable prisoners, especially those sentenced for less than a year, to serve their time at their respective districts.

Rural Lock-ups is also a good concept that will help districts so that prisoners are kept in their districts, and help in doing local civil work.
