Port Moresby residents were out in numbers on Saturday to try their luck in fishing at the Port Moresby Adventure Park.
The Adventure Park’s fishing competition attracted families, students, seasoned fisherman and youngsters who hoped to hook a tagged fish.
Prizes ranged from K100 to K5,000 for each tagged fish.
The fishing competition was held under perfect weather conditions.
Park Manager, Kori Mon, said the fishing competition is worth K30,000 with 63 fishes all tagged with different colours and different cash prizes.
The participants from different ages sat on all sides of the pond.
Others had no luck, only catching fishes with no tags, while some stopped fishing and enjoyed the company of friends and family at the park.
So far, from Saturday’s competition, only two fish were caught, a red tagged fish worth K100 and a yellow tagged fish worth K500.
The competition will be held every weekend during the month of April.
