Radio Stations Warned to uphold codes

ThPNG Media Council has warned Radio Stations operating inthe country to uphold codes and standards of decency intheir program contents.

This warning comes after numerous complaints from parents, churches andthe general public following a recent promotional segment posted onthe social media by a known FM station in Port Moresby.

The same station ran a strip for cash promotion and also received criticism fromthe public for indecency and promoting sex.

The Council said radio stations that failed to upholdthPNG media code of ethics and standards can havetheir broadcast licences revoked.
