The PNG U20 Rugby Union team finished third place behind Tonga and this year’s Champions, Fiji, in the Oceania Rugby Junior Trophy in Fiji.
The Fijian’s beat Tonga 19-10 in the deciding match of the competition; at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
There were three rounds in the competition with four countries, Fiji, Tonga, PNG and Vanuatu, taking part.
In round one, Papua New Guinea went up against hosts, Fiji, in a one-sided match, losing 63-0.
Tonga secured their first win against Vanuatu, thrashing them 81 points to nil. In round 2 of competition, Fiji again humiliated Vanuatu in a whopping 109 points to 6 victory.
In the last and final round of matches, Fiji beat Tonga to qualify for the World Rugby U20 Trophy 2016 in England and PNG Secured their first win against Vanuatu and finished third in the competition.
