25 Receive accreditation certificates under PNG Sports Foundation

Receiving accreditation certificates under the PNG Sports Foundation through PNG High Performance Sport, the recipients are now qualified to practice their skills officially in any sporting event they are involved with.

From the 25 receivers, only one was from Bougainville.

Team leader Michelle Fae said courses as such will continue to be rolled out around the country.

She said working with the team during the course; it was interesting to see how many questions were raised on how one can personally apply the strapping skills when needed.

Qualifications are now official for the receivers of the accreditation, this will provide an opportunity not just for their personal gain, but also help their community sporting association or groups, which can help with injury management and how to prevent athletes from injuries.

Pacific Games Gold Medalist for the sport of Karate, Nigel Bana, says learning the skills of strapping will help him and his fellow athletes immensely, and most importantly, how to avoid injuries.

Registration for the next strapping course is open until Friday, before the next course this Saturday at the Aquatic Centre.
