Two Female Candidates Elected so Far

Two females have so far been elected into parliament.

Delilah Gore, a Northern Provincial candiate, was declared the winner of the Sohe Open seat and later Loujaya Toni, singer of the 1991 SP Games theme song “Keep the Fire Alive” took the Morobe Open Seat.

 

Ms. Gore who flew into Port Moresby yesterday, was met by party leader of Trumph Heritage an Empowerment, Don Polye.

 

Mr. Polye said it was a victorious win for his party and he expressed confidence in the new MP.

 

Toni unseated longtime MP, Bart Philemon, while Gore unseated Anthony Nene.
