No more delays for POMGEN Emergency renovation

Work on the Port Moresby General Hospital Emergency Department will not be delayed any longer.

Over K500, 000 was raised at a fundraising dinner for this course last week.

Present for the trustworthy cause were Politicians, Governmental and Corporate heads.

Among the generous contributions made either cash or kind, the Government donated K200, 000 while the Opposition donated K150, 000.

Signed Wallabies and Kumuls Jersey auctioned that evening was bought by Hugo Canning.

Doctor of Emergency, Sam Yokopua, was grateful for the support and said the total amount raised has surpassed the initial amount of K200, 000 needed by the department to complete the work.

Dr. Yokopua says a reputable contractor will be engaged to avoid the misdeed of the previous contractor that left the job half complete.

The new facility will be a state of the art and will be user friendly, Dr. Yokopua says.

The money will also be used to purchase vital medical equipment’s.
