Over 3,000 Teachers in Morobe Expect Their Postings

By Colleen Barilae – EM TV News, Lae

Teachers in Morobe are now moving to their respective schools in preparation for the new academic year.

More than 3000 school teachers scattered over schools in Morobe’s nine districts, expect to receive their postings this week.

The Provincial Education Office also expects teachers to resume duties next Monday, after filling out resumption of duty summary sheets.

It comes following the Education Department’s call this week for provincial education authorities to distribute their teachers’ resumption of duty forms for the 2016 academic year.

In Morobe, more than 3000 teachers are expected to have filled out their forms, brought to their schools by their respective districts.

Kenny Ephraim, from Morobe’s Finschhafen Primary School, says his district education manager has brought in their forms, to be filled out by Monday.

The Morobe provincial education office on the other hand expects all resumption duty forms to be filled out by next Monday.

With over 3000 primary and secondary schools in Morobe, many of which are located in rural areas, some schools have confirmed they have not received resumption duty forms from the education office.

All schools in Morobe are expected to resume classes by February 1, 2016.
