The 2015 Men’s Snooker title nominations are now open. With only a limited number of places available, Vice-President of the PNG Billiards and Snooker Association John Chan said registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.

“It is important that the players nominate and pay their registration fees early,” Chan said.

He said this year was significant as the titles will coincide with PNG’s 40th anniversary of independence.

Reigning champion, Djorn Fong, will head into this year’s championship looking to win the title for a mammoth ninth time.

However, he will be facing tough competition from Kavieng Open champion, Marcus Ng, and Port Moresby Open winner Ralph Kaina.

Youngsters, Emmanuel Kapi and Edward Laki, are both expected to feature prominately in th B-Grade division.

The registration fee is K200 and K150 for A and B Grade respectively, and applications will close on Monday, September 7.

The championship will be held across the Aviat Club, Dragons Den, Laguna Hotel and Lamana’s Q-Club venues here in Port Moresby.
