Ramu NiCo Management the developer of Ramu Nickel Project in Madang and the Madang Provincial Works Department signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday.
The MOU is to strengthen working relationship, in the maintenance of deteriorating roads and bridges along the Madang-Ramu Highway.
Ramu NiCo President, Wang Jicheng, signed on behalf of the company with Madang Provincial Works Manager, Ferdinand Wakeri.
President Jicheng said the road condition between Ramu and Madang is in bad condition and it is a great concern for Ramu NiCo Project.
Mr. Jicheng said the MoU signed now establishes a good working relationship between the two organisations, so any future emergency work can be properly and timely coordinated and delivered to ensure traffic and general public, as well as business houses, are not unnecessarily affected.
Works Manager, Mr. Wakeri, expressed his appreciation when signing the MoU and emphasised that such partnership is very important to continuously ensure goods and services are delivered to the people.
The Madang-Ramu Highway has been severely affected in recent months following heavy rain.
