The leader NGO Millennium Good Governance Incorporation has called on the public to speak up about any illegal activities, including the transferring of money out of the country.

Steven Andambo made the commen’s following recent media reports of money laundering involving senior bureaucrats in Papua New Guinea.

“This is one of the very key issues that we need to address, and I encourage all Papua New Guinea’s to be watchful of these activities,” Andambo said.

He said the media reports had already exposed those involved, but the public can also play their part in stopping money laundering.

“Let’s wake up, stand on our toes and be watchful,” he said.

Andambo also requested that investigations into the money laundering revelations should be established.

“I believe this activity has occurred for over 20 or 30 years, and it needs to be further investigated.”
