Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, launched a K300 million re-development project of the Boram Hospital in Wewak, East Sepik.
Part of a European Union deal, the project launch will give the hospital the attention it deserves after 50 years of neglect.
It’s taken the Government over 50 years to come to the aid of the Boram Hospital.
Yesterday(September 13), the Prime Minister was in Wewak to officiate a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the K300 million upgrade.
The K300 million is a loan from the European Union. It was made available after the Government counter-funded a K37million to allow the funds to be released. This, Governor Allan Bird says, the people of East Sepik are grateful for.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill says the project is long over-due. And it is about time the country gives back to the Province.
The Prime Minister says he will make it his personal business to see the project start and finish on time.
