PNG to participate in The Melbourne International Karate Championships

The PNG Karate-do Federation has sent eleven members of its 62 member Train- on Squad to participate at the Melbourne International Karate Championships.

The female athletes include, Sarah Ande, who will be fighting in the senior division under 61 Kg and Kata while Crystal Mari will be making her derby in the cadet division under 54 Kg and Kata.

In the male fights, Junior Billy will head the senior division, fighting under 60 Kg.

Atomu Amani from Kyokushin Karate will be fighting under 75 Kg in the senior division.

The selected athletes participated at the recent training camp ran by Mentor Coach Sensei Trevor Roberts. Sensei Trevor will be joining the team in Melbourne.

The accompany management team comprise of Willie Leslie as coach , Bernard Soari as trainer and Pastor Joseph Baeau as Manager.

The team left yesterday and expected to return on Tuesday, the 25th of February 2014.
