PNG Swimming Inc. to Host 12th Oceania Championships

Papua New Guinea Swimming Inc will be hosting the 12th Oceania Championship from the 25th -30th of June, 2018 in Port Moresby, in corporation with PNG Sports Foundation. It will be the 12th edition of the FINA sanctioned biennial championships under the direction of Oceania Swimming Association. The pool competition will take place at the Taurama Aquatic Centre over 4 days from 26th to 29th June, and the Open Water 5km and 10km event at the Fairfax Harbor Naval base. The five kilometer open water swim will be on the 25th of June and the ten kilometer open water swim held on the 30th June.
 
The aim of PNGSI is to host a well-run international competition for the 16 countries affiliated to Oceania Swimming Association who will attend, bringing with them approximately 240 people to Port Moresby. The Papua New Guinea Swim Team will be made up of 24 swimmers from Lae Amateur Swimming Club and Boroko Amateur Swimming Club.
 
Meanwhile, the 2018 Annual General Meeting will be held on June 25 in Port Moresby at the Taurama Aquatic VIP lounge before the pool competition starts.
