Following Tonga’s withdrawal from hosting the 2019 Pacific Games, there is still uncertainty as to where the games will be hosted and whether or not it will push through.
Tonga’s failure to go back on its initial decision to withdraw has seen to the host agreement between the Games Council and the Tongan Government formally terminated.
It was signed on Monday by the Pacific Games Council.
Legal proceedings came into effect immediately against the Tongan Government being the party that withdrew hosting duties without any consultation.
For now, the Council has made known that it would like to have an experienced host take on the 2019 duties.
