The club only learnt of the Cartwright situation when the story of the AU$50,000 worth of payment via a middle man, and the talks of abortion that came out in the newspapers.
Penrith Panther Executive General Manager, Phil Gould, said, they are willing to discuss the matter with Cartwright’s ex-girlfriend if she is willing to do so.
The NRL actually caught wind of the situation last year, but after months of silence, figured the matter has been resolved under wraps.
Despite Cartwright being at the receiving end of criticism, the NRL also decided that there is no need for an investigation by the Integrity Unit.
Gould said, it is important that he deals with it in a respectful manner.
For now, the Penrith Panthers Club is willing to discuss this matter with Cartwright’s ex-girlfriend if she wishes to make direct contact.
