The National Capital District Commission (NCDC) has launched a computerised accounting system to replace the manual order requisition form.
NCDC City Manager, Leslie Alu, said this innovative accounting solution would contribute to better fiscal control.
Alu said it is a milestone for NCDC to use the new computerised accounting system called Acc Pac sage 300.
This new mechanism will ensure prudent fiscal and management accounting practice in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act.
The City Manager added that this system would allow respective line managers to have better control of their divisional budgets.
“It will eliminate the bulk of paperwork and provide better overview and budget by the respective divisional managers and their support staff,” Alu said.
System Administrator Jerry Nicholas, while highlighting the systems features, said it will be an advantage for city managers and the work of all staff within the commission.
Data stored in the system can be retracted even after 20 to 30 years.
