Wantoks FC in yellow bibs took on the home side PNGIPA FC in red bibs who certainly were up for a challenge that worth watching.
The home side was packed with brilliant young guns eagerly hoping for a spot in the upcoming Under 15- 18 National Youth tournament which will be hosted by the NCDPSSA early next month.
On the other hand Wantoks boasted on their last year winning tag of their A- division as they fought tooth for tooth right down to their last breath.
Both went out scoreless at halftime.
In the second encounter, the home side proved not to be an easy meat for the tourist who seemed to be a crowd- pleaser after the break.
Having every scoring attempt to no avail set both teams home scoreless.
Since the inception of the tournament, the whole idea is to have the competition as a development pathway for youngsters and keen footballers in the nation’s capital.
The NCDPSSA will run a national women youth tournament early next month and fully supported by the PNG Football Association. Already a soccer field was ruled for Under 15’s as they prepare to host the tourney.
