Minister Gore Receives NRI Reports

Minister for Higher Education Research Science and Technology, Delilah Gore, is pleased with the National Research Institute in producing timely and important research reports to support the government.

Ms Gore expressed this yesterday when receiving NRI reports from NRI Chair, Sir Henry Chow, witnessed by the Institute’s Council and senior staff.

However, Minister Gore was also disappointed to know that most reports produced over the past years, do not reach the floor of parliament for decision makers.

Ms Gore has asked the Institute to do a submission for her to present to the National Executive Council to be reported to the parliament.

These reports include recommendations on better use of natural resources, land, cost of living and urbanization.

Chair of NRI Council, Sir Henry Chow, applauded Ms Gore’s intervention as she is the first minister to visit the institute and its council members.

Sir Henry added that being government’s tink thank needs adequate resourcing as well as to strengthen vital linkages to benefit more from the work generated by the Institute.
