The law and order Chairman in the Morobe Tutumang, Peter Namus, has defended the provincial government's recent decision to lift the liquor ban.
Mr Namus said the provincial government had to be fair in its decisions.
He said clubs and hotels had taken advantage of the ban and had increased beer prices.
Also he said crime had risen along with the production of illegal alcohol.
