Despite ending up with the wooden spoon last season, the Gulf Isapeas are now ready to make a change in this year’s Digicel Cup Competition.
The players and the management staff were named yesterday.
The home ground of the team is the Kaugere Oval in Port Moresby.
The Isapeas, pride of the Gulf Province, are now hungry to be on the field this 2014 Digicel Cup season.
The Crocs finished at the bottom of the ladder last year, but for this season, the game plans look different with new management and players on board.
Twenty eight players have been selected, including rising stars scouted from the Kerema Rugby League in the likes of Abel Putu, Morgan Mora and Sly Tom.
Pipi Kilori continues his notable position in the back line, while former PNG Kumuls and Isapeas backbone, Tuksy Tuki Karo, joined the coaching staff as the Skill and Backline Coach.
The players have already kicked off their training sessions and no doubts, are ready to hunt for the final playoff berth come game time.
The club debuted in the competition in 2011; this year will be their fourth year.
But for now, the Kaugere Oval will be the home ground of the team as it continues its preparation for the ‘wildcard race’.
