Gehlot Out on Bail

A former University of Technology lecturer, atthe center of fraud investigations has been released on bail from Lae’s Beimo jail.

Correctional Service officers at Beimo confirmed his release yesterday.

Narayan Gehlotowasthe head ofthe electrical Engineering Department. He was terminated following allegations that he misappropriated more than 600 thousand kina.  

Gerlot was arrested in Port Moresby and brought to Lae for questioning. 

He was being held at Beimo jail after he failed to surrender hisIndian and US passports.

Meanwhile,the fraud investigations have resulted inthe arrest ofthe UNITECH bursar andthe former registrar.  

ther former senior members ofthe university are also being investigated.
