Four people were seriously injured after a vehicle rammed into anther along Wards road in Port Moresby overthe weekend.
There were no fatalities inthe crash, but this isthe latest is a series of car accidents this year.
Traffic alongthe road slowed as police arrive to contain a potentially violent situation.
A vehicle owned by Matrix Security reportedly slammed into PMV after 7pm.
The Matrix Security vehicle suffered more damagedthenthe ther, butthe drivers escaped relatively unhurt as soon asthe crowd began gthering.
Passengers onthe ther vehicle weren’t as lucky, four people including a woman was seriously hurt and were taken away tothe hospital by anther vehicle.
This isthe latest of a series of road accidents this year. The number of injuries is inthe hundreds, buts what’s more concerning is thatthe list of fatalities keeps growing longer every month.
The National Road Safety Council meanwhile says many ofthe accidents are alcohol related. Betthe penalties of traffic offenses like drink driving are very lenient.
A new legislation meanwhile will create what called a road traffic authority which will oversee road safety andthe imposition of stricter penalties on offenders.
