Court to decide on Yama & McIllwain fraud case

The National Court in Waigani announced on Thursday that it will hand down its decision onthe fraud case between businessman Peter Yama and former Managing Director for BeP Garth McIllwain next week Friday.

Lawyers of both parties made written submissions tothe presiding judge yesterday after withnesses were cross examined on various allegations.

 

It wasthe alleged that Mr. McIllwain signed fixed loan documents on May 6th 1999 for the Yama Group of Companies that resulted in Mr. Yama being out of business.

 

“They createdthe documents and falsiflied it and usethe document to back chargethe date to 6th May, 1999,” says Peter Yama outside Waigani Court House.

“Evidence is very strong in court that Mr. McIllwain was notthe director or even work in Bank South Pacific that time; he was working in Credit Corporation and how will he createthe documents and register it with Yama Group of Companies on 6th May 1999?”
