During a recent visit to Papua New Guinea, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary from the US Bureau of East Asia Pacific Affairs, Mr. W. Patrick Murphy, explained to attendees Papua New Guinea’s place in the Indo-Pacific strategy.
The Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor is a vision that is clearly embedded in the `US rebalancing’ and `pivot to Asia’ strategy and refers to the potential of the Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor, in transforming the prospects for development and investments as well as for trade and transit between the economies of South and Southeast Asia Indo-Pacific economic corridor.
