What started as a conversation between a woman in need of help and a priest, has transformed into an organization that now helps women and children.
Founder and Patron of WeCare! Foundation for Women and Children at risk, Father John Glynn, says what has eventuated, grew from his intentions of helping the needy.
The foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary in Port Moresby today at one of its community care centers.
This year marks 10 years of existence of an organization that continues to change the lives of women, children and the homeless, in settlements around Port Moresby.
Parents and families joined teachers and students of the Mercy Care Center, an initiative under the early childhood learning program of WeCare! Foundation, to mark this milestone.
Father John added that the organization has grown over the years, with a lot of support from donors.
WeCare! Foundation for Women and Children at risk is an NGO. It was registered with the Investment Promotion Authority in 2008.
The foundation depends on donation both in cash and kind and its structure is focused on assisting marginalized women, children and children with special needs within settlements.
10 years has passed and the foundations achievements, according to program manager Josephine, are unbelievable.
The students of Mercy Care Center are one of the many achievements of this NGO.
Today (24 October, 2018) they had a reason to sing and dance because of some caring hearts.
