PNG’s Sprint Queen Toea Wisil was dominant in both 100 and 200 metres atthe Melbourne Track Classic.
Toea just missed out on clockin PNG record time of 11.37seconds held by Mae Koime.
Toea clocked in 11.41 seconds to beat Ashley Whittaker in 0.31 seconds difference, inthe 100 metre event attheInternational Association of Athletics Federation Melbourne Track Classic.
The best came in when she lined up for 200 metresPNG track queen ran away to stopthe clock in 23.09’s econds sweeping a distance away from Monica Be nnan coming second.
PNG Athletics President Tony Green commended Toea Wisil’s performance saying whther it is a national record or notoshe had given a wonderful performance.
He said this wasthe biggest meet onthe Australian Calender and Wisil had provern to be dominant.
Toea will go into Australian National Championships in Sydney this weekend full of confidence and hopeful of good conditions.
