Round 8 ofthe Digicel Cup challenge between Lae Snax Tigers and Prima Gulf Isapeas ended prematurely due to an on-field brawl between players.
Tigers were about to wrap upthe match 26-16 when a fight broke out atthe PRL grounds.
It wasthe most physical encounter sincethe start ofthe 2013 Digicel Cup season. Competition lLeadersLae Snax Tigers intheir first Port Moresby match were certainly out for a win.
Tigers half back opened upthe match scoringthe first try through Atte Bene Wabo collecting a penalty.
The pressure was on andthe aggression obvious in attack and defence on both sides.
Isapeas hit back through John Horope’s unconverted try.
Tigers snatched two converted tries- Atte Bene Wabo recording a double for the day claimingthe “Man ofthe Match” award.
With 5 minutes remaining to full-time a nasty fight broke out after three Gulf Isapeas players spear tackled Tigers George Benson resulting in a punch up.
The match was called off by referee and forced to callthe game off prematurely with a 26-16 scoreline in favour ofthe Lae Snax Tigers.
