Royal PNG Constabulary Legacy

The RoyaPNG Constabulary has commendedthe family ofthe Late Constable Joseph Tangeria for his services to RPNG Constabulary.

The late Constable Tangeria from Tari in Hela province dlied during active duty on March 1st 1990.

His family was presented with a medal bythe Governor General Sir Michael Ogio.

The gthering was organised bythe RoyaPNG Constabulary Legacy. It was well – attended by members, policemen and women therwise known as Legatees including Members ofthe Diplomatic Co, among thers.

Former Police Commissioner and Ombudsman Ila Geno reflected onthe work of RoyaPNG Constabulary inthe past and present. With special emphasis to honour those who have dlied in line of duty.

One such legatee was late Constable Tangeria. His family who were presentthere received a medal fromthe Queen’s representative to honour his commitment tothe disciplined force. They also returnedthe last uniform he wore before his passing.

Governor General Sir Michael Ogio commended all policemen and women for their services despite adverse criticisms. He was also impressed withthe Beard of RoyaPNG Constabulary Legacy for a healthy balance sheet.

Sir Michael encouraged ther officers to jointhe Police Legacy as it provides networking and educational opportunities for Members.
