Allegations has been levelled against an integrated land group from Roku village in Central province, that they are illegally owning various land area including the Napa Napa refinery.
However, the claim was rebutted by the Ohobidudare land group. The ILG Chairman, Inogo Gabe, says they are not illegal or a “shadow” ILG as claimed by the Kuriu ILG Treasurer, Ray Ahuta.
Mr Ahuta claimed the Ohobidudura ILG has been operating illegally after it was dismissed by the Central provincial lands court in September last year.
But today, member of the Ohobidudura group fronted up at the EMTV office, with all documents dating back to 1980s.
The chairman says they are registered with the Lands department and received their ILG status in 2001.
He clarified that Ohobidudure is the land block area within the Kuriu clan. It is one of two land areas that houses the Napa Napa refinery.
He says there’s nothing sinister as all court documents are clear and investors are welcome to do business on their land.
They’ve said that the members of the Kuriu clan who accused them “have no names in Roku’s electoral role as they had been residing outside the village for decades.”
The group had appealed to businesses operating on their land area not to panic over the current situation.
