PNGRFL meets Nigel Woods

Ranked 6th inthe world in Rugby League,thPNG Kumuls have a chance to secure a top spot intheWorld Cup Competition come October.

That’sthe prediction of Executive Director for the Rugby leagueWorld Cup and English Super League, Nigel Wood, in a news conference in Port Moresby on Tuesday.

First time inthe country, Wood was impressed bythe effort put in bythPNG Rugby League not only for the world challenge but for the next three to four years. 

Withthe advance programs and quality trainingsthe boys are undergoing,the team looks fit and ready to takethe challenge atthe Rugby leagueWorld Cup Competition.

Sport Minister Justin Tkatchenko was excited to meet Wood assuring him thatthe boys are training hard and aims at moving from 6th to 4th place inthe world ranking.

Kumuls will go into camp in Goroka next Monday and will train for the next six months before heading for theWorld Cup.

PNG Rugby Football League Chairman Don Fox was pleased to have had Wood visit as it has madethe sport important.

Mr. Wood leavesthe country tomorrow via Cairns back to England.
