PNG Karate-Do Federation Host Seminar

The Papua New Guinea Karate –Do Federation has started off Karate Training Seminars beginning with the West New Britain Province.

There were three Karate clubs that participated including Cape Hoskins Shotokan Karate Budokai, Tavur Karate Club and Kimbe Kyokushin Karate Club.

The main aspects of Karate covered in the Training Seminars were, Karate kihon, Kata and Bunkai, Kumite, Competition Rules, Stretching and Physical Fitness.

West New Britain has five karatekas in the National Development Squad.

The Seminar kicked off on the 14th of this month and ended today.

There are plans in place to roll out the seminar to the Highlands Region in Goroka and other parts of the country before the sixth PNG Games are held in Lae.

President of the PNG Karate Federation, Carl Mari, thanked the National Government, as it is through the Go For Gold program under the PNG Olympic Committee, that these event was held.
