The national boxing squad departed early Tuesday morning for Australia.

The team, along with Coach, Joe Rufa, will be on a one-month training stint at the Sports Academy on Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, Australia.

In the team travelling, Charlie Keama and Henry Umings are under PNG Olympic Scholarships, and will be there at the training camp for a month.

Among the boxers is Papua New Guinean powerlifting sensation, Linda Pulsan, who also travelled with the team.

She will be on the Gold Coast for powerlifting training sessions.

Linda Pulsan and Debbie Kaore are both on SP Brewery sponsorships and will stay on the Gold Coast for three months and continue training at the sports academy.

Charlie and Henry, however, will return to Papua New Guinea with the rest of the boxing contingent in April.
