Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae during his meet with the Tonga’s Prime Minister Siaosi Sovaleni conveyed PNG Government’s commitment to provide education sponsorship for two Tongan students at any Tertiary Institution in PNG.
Furthermore, Governor General assured the Tongan Prime Minister that PNG Government’s commitment to provide military assistance for rebuilding and restoration of communities who were affected by the volcanic eruption early this year.
Tonga’s Prime Minister Siaosi Sovaleni acknowledged the Governor General’s message and said Tonga is grateful for the close relationship shared between the two countries and that these commitments by the Vice regal of PNG now further strengthens this relationship.
The Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and Lady Emeline will spend Christmas and New Year in Tonga.
