Locally owned company, Pindu Transport and Logistic Services (PLTS), has been awarded the contract to supply a major part of the transport requirements for the Pacific Games in July.
The announcement was made today at the GOC headquarters in Port Moresby.
The company’s fleet includes 100 buses and 150 cars. Managing Director, Mek Pindu is confident that they will provide the best transport services for the Pacific Games.
Games Organising Committee CEO, Peter Stewart, said the committee is pleased to engage a local company to look after the transportation of athletes and officials, who are the core of the games.
Mr Pindu thanked the GOC for recognising local businesses and said that the company had the resources and manpower for the Pacific Games.
NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, also addressed the media today as assurance of Port Moresby being ready to welcome member countries taking part in the Games.
He said that despite the slow progress of some of the Games facilities, the majority of the infrastructure for the event will be completed before June.
“We will stand proud to welcome all member countries and athletes taking part in the 2015 Pacific Games to our city”, said Parkop.
