Malaysian Association of PNG Donates

Two charity organizations in Port Moresby, again received funding assistance from the Malaysian Association of PNG.

The Kidney Foundation and the PNG Children’s Foundation were the happy recipients of K40, 000 each.

The money will go a long way in supporting the assistance they provide in helping the vulnerable in the community.

After receiving the cheque of K40, 000, PNG Children’s Foundation representative, Estrellita Santa Cruz, said the money will help them in a big way.

Ms Santa Cruz said the PNG Children’s Foundation, formerly known as the Bougainville Child Fund, during the Bougainville Crisis, is involved in supporting many children and mothers in Port Moresby, particularly the 6 mile settlers.

She said apart from providing shelter, food and drink for unfortunate mothers and children, they provide monthly medical check-up and early childhood learning, through the ‘Kids Heaven Learning Centre’.

Rimbunan Executive Director, Ivan Lu, who is a committee of the Malaysian Association of PNG, said the objective of the association was to help people.

The Kidney Foundation also received similar funding today.

The Malaysian Association of PNG was started in 2001, and over the years, has raised funds through the Charity Golf Competition and corporate support from business houses and the Malaysian community in PNG.

Last year, they raised K900, 000 from Charity Golf, which now supports the work of 18 different Charity Organizations.
