Minister for Trade, Commerce andIndustry Richard Maru’saysthe Government will finalize a new list of reserved businesses atthe conclusion ofthe summit.
Mr. Maru’saidthe finalization ofthe list is amongthe many agendas to be discussed atthe summit next week.
Some ofthese businesses include trade stores and kaibars particularly those in towns and urban centers.
The minister said government will give incentives to assistthese businesses operate. Each province has been given only 13 spaces each and it will be on a first-come first-serve basis.
It will cost K1 million to hostthe summit. Mr. Maru’said private sectors have been urged to assist sponsorthe staging ofthe summit. There will be three sponsorship categories including gold at K100, 000, silver at K50, 000 and bronze at K20, 000.
A fee of 250 kina is required to attendthe Madang summit.
The inaugural SME’summit will be held fromthe 1st tothe 3rd of July.
