Lae Ipatas Cup – Round 6

By Bethanie Harriman – EM TV, Lae

In round six of the Ipatas Cup on February 7, O-wan Titans’ and Wau Brothers’ match was marred by handling errors that started in the first half.

But, crowd favourites O-Wan Titans scored 14 points to six edging in front of Wau Brothers.

The boys from Wau played hard but lacked the experience in the halves to really test the O-wan side.

Three minutes after the second half O-Wan Titans’ number fourteen scored a try and the conversion was successful to put O-Wan Titans ahead with 20 points.

After a minute, the boys from Obura-Wanenera district in the Eastern Highlands scored another try to put them ahead with a successful conversion.

The full-time score was 34-6; O-wan Titans proving too strong. In other matches, Blue Healers beat Kamukumung Crushers 10-6. Round seven will be tomorrow followed by presentations.
