The Hela Provincial Administration has conducted a head count on all its public servants. It seems many of its public servants are not operating out of the province but still getting paid.
Today, 30 new senior public servants signed their contracts to be part of the public service.
They were urged to provide leadership and deliver in their respective roles.
Acting Provincial Administrator, William Bando, warned against poor performance, saying it will not be tolerated.
He says, Hela’s transition is still not up to par due to poor performing public servants.
Issues faced by public servants such as housing and office space will be looked into to improve their performance.
Another 200 public servants will sign their contracts in the coming days.
