Businessman On Selling State Land

A businessman is calling on nationals not to sell state land to foreigners.

Money Talks Limited Managing Director, Mathew Minape, said authorities must regulate this as the trend is becoming more obvious.

Minape made this statement following his court victory in a six-year battle over a portion of land in Port Moresby.

In his statement to the media, the businessman raised his concerns over nationals applying for land titles and reselling to foreigners.

He says reselling of land to foreigners for development must not be entertained by authorities.

Minape was challenged in court over the lease of land, however Justice Nicholas Kirriwom dismissed an application by Giwi Properties.

Speaking on his court victory, Minape said the property will be developed into a commercial area.

“We will apply to the NCD Building Board and submit our plans to develop the land,” said Minape.

The victory ends a court battle of nearly six years and four months.
