Business PNG – Episode 20, 2014

Menyama is an old government station established by the colonial administration half a century ago.

It is strategically placed  near the borders of the Eastern Highlands and Gulf provinces. The region is fertile and is home to some of Papua New Guinea's best organically grown coffee.

Over the last 20 years, the industry suffered due to many factors. But topping the list are the bad roads and unsteady world coffee prices.

Menyamya is now looking to brighter days ahead with increased government spending on roads and district development.

Also in this episode, we talk to local artist Jeffry Feeger, who is today turning his works of art into viable sources of income.
