The National Library now has a new addition and it’s calledthe American Corner.
The American Corner is a resource centre, filled with books about America, from American governmentoculture, history, and current affairs.
It’s also equipped withthe latest information technology which host discussion groups, seminars and digital video conferencing.
The American corner was officially launched by US Ambassador Walter North, Director ofthe library Jacob Hevelawa and Acting Secretary for Education Dr Michael Tapo.

The National Library is located at Waigani oppositethe Supreme Court.
It recently had a faceliftoandthe addition ofthe American corner adds substance tothe improverments.
It is a new concept to Papua New GuineabutWorldwidethere is up to 850 American spaces.
The American Corner is open tothe public during normal opening hours ofthe library.
