POM National High Cultural Show

Port Moresby National High School celebrated its Cultural Show commonly known as Hahenamo Day

Twenty-four cultural groups put up various performances to markthe National High School’s Foundation as an EducationalInstitution.

It was a slow start tothe 15th Cultural Show as only a handful of cultural groups performedtheir final rehearsals atthe school field.

Bet asthe day progressed on, crowds gradually came to withnessthe cultural performances atthe Port Moresby National High School Field.

TraditionalLandowners of Port Moresby city,the Motuans, openedthe Cultural Show withtheir performance. Followed by Gulf, Morobe and Madang combined,the Sepiks andthe lively dancers from Eastern Highlands province.

The Kairuku-Mekeo dancers also lightened upthe arena withtheir bright attire.

Police presence withthe support from NCD Dog Unit ensured all was in order.

Port Moresby National High School Hahenamo Dayis celebrated annually to appreciatethe construction and opening ofthe school as an educational institution in 1996. It is also a time for students’to puttheir school work aside and appreciatetheir cultural heritage.
