NAMBAWAN SUPER EMPOWERS OVER 6,000 MEMBERS THROUGH FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING

More than 24,500Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) members across the country have received Financial Literacy Training since the inception of the program in 2021.
NSL Chief Executive Officer, Paul Sayer, said the Financial Literacy Program demonstrates Nambawan Super’s continued commitment to supporting Members beyond superannuation contributions and investment returns.
“Our Financial Literacy Program is an important part of helping our members build confidence in managing their personal finances today, whilst still formally employed and start planning for their future in retirement. By equipping Members with the right knowledge and tools, we are contributing not only to their personal financial wellbeing but also to the broader economic empowerment of Papua New Guineans,” he added.
Since the start of the year, the Fund has delivered over 270 sessions to over 6,000 Members from NSL Employers in the public and private sector, including the Department of Education, PNG Ports Corporation, Correctional Services, Civil Fire Services, Milne Bay Administration and Public Health Authority and Oil Palm Smallholders, amongst others.
The most recent sessions were conducted with the Office of Censorship and the National Airports Corporation, with strong participation and positive feedback received.
The Financial Literacy Training is offered free of charge to NSL Employers and Members, demonstrating Nambawan Super’s commitment to nation-building through education and empowerment beyond superannuation savings.
According to NSL the sessions equiped members with practical financial management skills to help them make informed decisions about their money today, while still employed and also assist them prepare for life after employment.
The FLT Program focuses on helping Members better understand personal finance, budgeting, debt management, saving, superannuation products and services, planning for retirement, buying their own home and financial management for micro, small, and medium enterprises. These sessions are delivered free of charge by Nambawan Super’s Member Education team as part of the Fund’s broader Member education and empowerment initiatives.
