EVICTIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN NCD

Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police for the National Capital District and Central Provinces, Benjamin Turi has revealed several locations in the city where evictions will be carried out.

These areas include Hohola, Suksuk Tyre Service down to Pitstop, Mobil Service Station, part of Garden Hills, and Six Mile near Saraga Market.

ACP Turi stated, the evictions will be carried out by landowners or property owners. He also mentioned that police will assist to ensure these eviction exercises go smoothly.

He said the evictions are pending court orders from the National Court, and people residing in the mentioned areas are advised to be prepared for relocations.

“Police will enforce directives from the courts when they see that the documents are genuine and those who seek police assistance provide all genuine legal documents,” Turi said.

Residents at Talai and Gorobe will also be evicted to allow construction of new road link to connect Burns Peak to Koki Market.

He also stated that other illegal settlements popping up will be demolished soon when the NCDC gives the green light.

He further added that the Two-Mile Hill eviction is progressing well, and the next location where police will carry out evictions is the Four Mile Works compound.

Turi said the eviction will start soon, and the police have conducted awareness for those residing at the compound yesterday.
