ANGORE INVESTMENT GRANTED K12 MILLION AFTER 15 YEARS

The Angore PDL8 5 Blocks Investment Limited of Hela Province has announced the receival of K12 Million Business Development grant after 15 years of waiting.

This was announced yesterday in the township of Tari, during an awareness program to inform the landowners that their umbrella company is ready to commence business.

Landowners of Angore showed up in numbers and heard from their leaders at wellhead 1715. The awareness faced its share of challenges as locals disagreed with the initiative but it was eventually rolled out as planned.

Yesterday marked the start of the awareness as they continue today in Hogambe – block 1716, Awatangi – block 1788, and Komo – block 1787. Other Blocks including Purani – Block 1642 were made aware of the intention of this awareness program that is expected to round up today.

Angore PDL8 5 Blocks Investment Limited chairman Sako Kasen Tolape told landowners that they now have capital and the Umbrella Company to do business like other PNG LNG Landowner companies.

“We have missed out on many benefits worth millions of kina due to no seed capital fund to start up our SME business,” Tolape said.

“We regret that we will be running well behind many of those well-established PNG LNG Landowner companies who have fortunately started off and participated early in the spin-off benefits associated with the PNG LNG project.”
