EASTERN HIGLANDS PROVINCE PURCHASE K2.9M WORTH MACHINERY

A total of K2.9m was made to the XCMG (PNG) Engineering Machinery Limited by the Eastern Highlands Governor Simon Sia for the purchase of machinery for the province.

The cheque presentation was handed over to the XCMG Engineering Machinery Limited Deputy General Manager Zebo Zhang at the company yard earlier this week in Lae by EHP Governor Simon Sia.

The fleet includes a dump Truck, 33 Ton Crawler Excavator, 11 Ton Drum Roller, a Grader, 8 ton Back Hoe Loader and a bull dozer.

“The fleet will help the Eastern Highlands especially to upgrade the village (rural) roads,” Sia said.

EHP Works Director Jethro Tubavai also expressed that the equipment is basically to upgrade the remote roads.

“This is the second sets of fleets. The six fleets are bought at about K2.9m. This equipment will basically be used in the rural roads. We have a lot of bad roads. We will build roads and make sure our rural population access better service,” Tubavai said.
